1. ENTRADA DE MICRÓFONO – Conecte a esta entrada un micrófono con un cable de ¼”. Los controles de micrófono se encuentran en el panel superior.

2. TERMINAL DE TIERRA – Si usa giradiscos de nivel fonográfico con cable de conexión a tierra, asegúrese de conectar dicho cable a estos terminales. Si se experimenta un zumbido grave, puede significar que sus giradiscos no están conectados a tierra.

3. ENTRADAS DE LÍNEA (RCA) – Estas entradas se usan para conectar dispositivos de nivel de línea, tales como reproductores de CD, muestreadores o interfaces de audio.

4. ENTRADAS DE AUX | FONOGRÁFICA (RCA) – Conecte sus fuentes de audio a estas entradas. Estas entradas pueden aceptar señales de nivel de línea y fonográfico.

5. INTERRUPTOR DE ENTRADA DE LÍNEA | FONOGRÁFICA – Coloque este conmutador en la posición apropiada, en función del dispositivo conectado a las entradas LINE | PHONO. Si usa giradiscos de nivel fonográfico, coloque este conmutador en “PHONO” para proporcionar la amplificación adicional necesaria para las señales de este nivel. 4. SELECTOR DE ENTRADAS – Permite seleccionar la fuente de entrada que se aplica al canal correspondiente.

5. CUE – Envía el cana de cue de audio pre-fader para monitoreo.

6. CROSSFADER – Combina el audio entre los canales 2 y 3. Si se desliza a la izquierda se reproduce
el canal 2. Si se desliza a la derecha se reproduce el canal 3. Nota: El usuario puede reemplazar el crossfader en caso de que se desgaste. Simplemente, retire el panel frontal y luego los tornillos que lo mantienen sujeto. Cambie el fader por un repuesto de calidad autorizado por su vendedor de Numark más cercano.

7. FADER MAESTRO – Ajusta el volumen de salida de la mezcla de programa.

8. ESTÉREO / MONO – Ajusta la mezcla de programa para operación estéreo o mono.

10. ECUALIZADOR GRÁFICO (EQ) – Ajusta las frecuencias altas, medias y bajas de la salida de audio combinada de los canales 1 a 4. La ecualización compensa las diferencias de calidad sonora del material de las fuentes. Las frecuencias centrales de este ecualizador gráfico de 5 bandas son 63 Hz, 250 Hz, 1 kHz, 4 kHz y 16 kHz. Los faders tienen un tope central para lograr una respuesta “plana” exacta.
Consejos:
Si se refuerza (aumenta) la banda de 63 Hz, aumentarán los tonos bajos profundos y los sonidos del “kick drum” (bombo de pedal), pero puede causar que los amplificadores “recorten” o distorsionen si se ajustan muy altos.
Un corte leve (disminución) de las bandas de 250 Hz y 1 kHz le dará cierta claridad extra al sonido.
- Si refuerza la banda de 16 kHz, le dará un tono más nítido al audio.
- Como regla general, cuanto menor sea la ecualización, mejor.

11. MEZCLA DE AURICULARES – Deslice este control para mezclar los canales de cue y programa en los auriculares. Cuando está en el extremo izquierdo, sólo se oyen los canales aplicados al canal de cue. Cuando se gira totalmente a la derecha, se oye sólo la mezcla del programa.

12. GANANCIA DE AURICULARES – Ajusta el nivel de volumen de la salida para auriculares.

13. AURICULARES – Conecte sus auriculares de ¼” a esta salida para búsqueda de punto inicial (cue) y
monitoreo de la mezcla.

14. INTERRUPTOR DE ENCENDIDO – Enciende y apaga el mezclador. Encienda el mezclador después de desconectar todos los dispositivos de entrada y antes de encender los amplificadores. Apague los amplificadores antes de apagar el mezclador.

1.Power button (POWER)
This button turns on the power of the V-4 (p. 19)
2.DC in connector
Connect the power cable (DC) from the AC adaptor to this connector.
3.Power cable hook
Use this hook to retain the power cable so that it will not be accidentally unplugged.
4.MIDI OUT connector (MIDI OUT)
MIDI messages input from an external device are output without change (“thru-ed”) from this
connector. When using V-LINK to control both the V-4 and a DV-7PR, connect this output to the
input of the DV-7PR.
5.MIDI IN connector (MIDI IN)
Use this connector to input control signals sent from an external device to the V-4.
6.S-video output jack (S-VIDEO OUTPUT)
This jack outputs a S-video signal.
7.S-video input jacks (S-VIDEO INPUT)
These jacks input S-video signals.

8.Video (composite) input jacks (INPUT)
These jacks input video (composite) signals. If both video (composite) and S-video signals are input
simultaneously to the same channel (channel 1 or 2 only), the S-video signal will take priority, and
the video (composite) signal will be ignored.
9.Preview select buttons (PREVIEW OUT SELECT) (see p. 20)
These buttons select the image that will be output to the preview monitor. You can select one of the
input signals of channels 1 through 4, or the mixed output signal.
10.Preview output jack (PREVIEW OUT)
This jack outputs the preview monitor signal. Simultaneously, MIDI and effect parameters are also
output to the preview monitor.
11.Video (composite) output jacks (OUTPUT)
These jacks output video (composite) signals. In conjunction with the S-video output jack, these
jacks let you simultaneously output to three TV monitors or projectors.
12.Parameter setting buttons
These buttons are used to set various parameters for each button. The parameters are displayed on
the TV monitor connected to the preview output jack.
13.BPM indicator (see p. 39)
This displays the current BPM (Beats Per Minute) setting. You can turn the dial below to change
the displayed setting.
14.Tap button (TAP) (see p. 39)
This button is used to control BPM. The speed at which this button is tapped affects the BPM
setting.
15.Output fade dial (OUTPUT FADE) (see p. 25)
This dial is used to apply fade-to-white or fade-to-black to the final output. Turn the dial toward
WHITE to fade the final output to white. Turn the dial toward BLACK to fade the final output to
black.
16.Channel A input selector (INPUT SELECT) (see p. 23)
This button selects the image that will be input to channel A of the video mixer.
17.BPM control dial (BPM CONTROL)
This dial adjusts the BPM value. On the V-4, you can switch images or effects in synchronization
with the BPM.
18.Memory dial (MEMORY) (see p. 22)
The V-4 can store eight different states of the panel (e.g., effect assignments). By turning this dial
you can select one of these eight panel states. You can store various effect patterns such as wipes,
and then turn this dial to select the desired pattern. However, number 1 is fixed (non-writeable) as
a factory setting. You can make user settings for numbers 2 through 8.
19.Channel B input selector (INPUT SELECT) (see p. 23)
Selects the image that will be input to channel B of the video mixer.
20.Channel A effect buttons (EFFECTS)
These buttons apply effects to the image of video mixer channel A. With the factory settings, the
buttons are assigned (from top to bottom) the Strobe, Negative, Colorize, and Multi effects. You
may edit the settings to assign different effects if desired.
21.Channel A effect control dial (CONTROL)
This dial lets you smoothly control a parameter of an effect that is being applied to the image of
channel A. The dial will adjust an effect parameter of the effect button that is blinking.
22.Channel A transformer button (TRANSFORMER) (see p. 23)
This button lets you switch between channel A and B without using the video fader. With the
factory settings, the switch to the channel A image will be instant. You can also change the settings
to make the change occur gradually if desired.
23.Mix button (MIX) (see p. 24)
This button switches the function of the video fader to Mix. When you operate the video fader, you
will fade smoothly from the image selected for channel A to the image selected for channel B,
dissolving the two images. Press this button if you want to switch between channels A and B with
dissolve.
24.Wipe button (WIPE) (see p. 24)
This button switches the function of the video fader to Wipe. Press this button if you want to switch
between channels A and B by wiping between them. If desired, you can change the settings to
assign an effect other than Wipe to this button.
25.EFX button (EFX)
This button switches the function of the video fader to Special Wipe or Slide. Press this button if
you want to switch between channels A and B with Special Wipe or Slide. If desired, you can
change the settings to assign an effect other than Special Wipe or Slide to this button.
26.BPM sync button (BPM SYNC) (see p. 39)
Press this button if you want to switch images or turn effects on/off in synchronization with the BPM.
27.Video fader (T-bar type)
This is a T-bar type video fader. You can use it to switch between channels A and B, or to adjust the
keying level, etc. According to your preference, you can change the orientation 90 degrees from up
and down to left to right. For details on how to change the orientation, refer to p. 72.
28.Channel B effect buttons (EFFECTS)
These buttons apply effects to the image of video mixer channel B. With the factory settings, the
buttons are assigned (from top to bottom) the Mirror, Chroma Key, Luminance Key, and P in P
(Picture In Picture) effects. You may edit the settings to assign different effects to these buttons if
desired.
29.Channel B effect control dial (CONTROL)
This dial lets you smoothly control a parameter of an effect that is being applied to the image of
channel B. The dial will adjust an effect parameter of the effect button that is blinking.
30.Channel B transformer button (TRANSFORMER) (see p. 23)
This button lets you switch between channels A and B without using the video fader.

Converting SD-SDI to HDV

By using the scaling feature of the VC-300HD/VC-200HD, SD-SDI component video can be
up-converted to HD size as well as converted to HDV. In this case, conversion can be
performed using the same procedure as shown on the previous page.
* If conversion cannot be performed properly, it is possible that the “140: SDI IN” (p. 36) from
the Menu (p. 32) is not set to “Auto.”
Converting HD-SDI to DV
By using the scaling feature of the VC-300HD/VC-200HD, HD-SDI can be down-converted to
SD size as well as converted to DV. In this case, after connecting using the procedure on the
previous page, select “SD” in Step 6.
* When converting to PAL, select “576/50i” in step 6. For NTSC, select “480/59.94i.”
Converting SD-SDI to DV
Perform the settings on the previous page, and connect the SD video device to the HD-SDI
IN connector. In this case, select “480/59.94i” in Step 6.
* When converting to PAL, select “576/50i” in step 6. For NTSC, select “480/59.94i.”
Converting HD-SDI (SD-SDI) to Component
Perform the settings on the previous page, and connect the HD video device to the
COMPONENT OUTPUT connector. The selection made in Step 6 determines the format of
the video that is output. Set this item according to the connected device.
* When changing the output video frame rate, please select an appropriate value in step 6.
* Refer to the user’s manual that came with your HD video equipment to find out which video
formats it supports.
* When “480/59.94i” is used in Step 6, SD component is output. When converting to PAL,
select “576/50i” in step 6. For NTSC, select “480/59.94i.”
Converting HD-SDI (SD-SDI) to DVI-I
Perform the settings on the previous page, and connect a DVI-I compatible device, such as a
LCD monitor, to the DVI-I OUTPUT connector. The selection made in Step 6 determines the

Changing HD-SDI (SD-SDI) Size
The VC-300HD/VC-200HD converts (cross converts) 1080i size HD-SDI to 720p, and SD-SDI
and HD-SDI can be mutually converted. In this case, select the format to be converted in Step
6, and connect the video device supporting the output format to the HD-SDI OUT connector.

Converting DVI-I to HD-SDI (SD-SDI)
Perform the settings on the previous page, and connect the HD video device to the HD-SDI
OUT connector. The selection made in Step 6 determines the format of the video that is
output. Set this item according to the connected device.
* When changing the output video frame rate, please select an appropriate value in step 6.

Converting DVI-I to Component

Perform the settings on the previous page, and connect the HD video device to the
COMPONENT OUTPUT connector. The selection made in Step 6 determines the format of
the video that is output. Set this item according to the connected device.

* Refer to the user’s manual that came with your HD video equipment to find out which video

Converting DVI-I to SD Video

Converting HDV to SD Component

By using the scaling feature of the VC-300HD/VC-200HD, HDV can be down-converted to SD
size as well as converted to SD component. In this case, after connecting using the procedure
on the previous page, select “SD” in Step 5.
* When converting to PAL, select “576/50i” in step 6. For NTSC, select “480i/60.”
Converting DV to HD Component
Perform the settings on the previous page, and connect the HD video device to the
COMPONENT OUTPUT connector. In this case, select “1080i” or “720p” in Step 5.

* With audio that is 32 kHz, 12 bit, and 4-channel, which is being input to this unit as DV input,
only two channels of audio can be used. To select the channels to use in conversion, set
“170: DV In Audio Ch” (p. 37) from the Menu (p. 32).
When using all sound from the four channels in conversion, input the analog sound output of
the DV device to the AUDIO INPUT connectors, and select “AUDIO IN” with “150: Audio
Source” (p. 36) in the Menu (p. 32). Because a time lag occurs between the video and
audio, adjust the timing with “240: AudioDelay Time” from the Menu (p. 32).
* The same DV recording is output from CH1/CH2 and CH3/CH4 of the AUDIO OUTPUT
connectors. The embedded audio output from the HD-SDI OUT connector is output to the
channel selected with “450: SDI OUT Audio Ch”

1. Botones A / B – Estos dos botones seleccionan qué entrada de video se muestra en la

2. Botones de parámetros – Estos tres botones conmutan y cambian los parámetros del menú de
la pantalla. En el menú de parámetros, es posible cambiar el brillo, el contraste, el color, el
tinte y la nitidez de la pantalla. También es posible ajustar el tiempo de pantalla, que le
permite seleccionar cuánto tiempo aparece el “Video A” o “Video B” en la esquina superior
derecha de la pantalla cuando se conmutan las entradas (la selección de “1 sec” borra el texto
después de 1 segundo, “5 sec” lo borra después de 5 segundos, “on” hace que permanezca en
la pantalla cuando se conmuta la entrada de video y “off” desactiva el texto).
* Pulse el botón central para entrar al menú de parámetros de la pantalla. Una vez
ingresado al menú de parámetros de la pantalla, pulse el botón central para navegar
hasta el parámetro deseado.
* Use los botones de flecha para ajustar el parámetro seleccionado. Al pulsar la flecha
arriba el valor se incrementa, mientras que al pulsar la flecha abajo, el valor disminuye.
* Una vez que haya hecho los cambios de parámetros necesarios, el menú de parámetros
desaparece después de algunos segundos.
